During my time working at SportsEngine I had the opportunity to develop and maintain code for over 15,000 websites using their proprietary CMS Sitebuilder. Sitebuilder was in need of making their product mobile responsive. I helped develop two new responsive themes, a mobile responsive registration and new page elements for the product. In addition a custom Sitebuilder theme, plugins, build tools, templates and a process that made it easy for our team to implement. You can view an overview of the product here.
In addition to writing and maintaining sustainable code I handled custom website scoping, created a JIRA workflow for our team, improving the design handoff process, interviewing, and enabling team members to learn new techniques, skills, and tools.
Here are some highlights of the custom websites I helped produced while working for SportsEngine.
StarTribune Sports Hub Sites
StarTribune was looking for an updated mobile responsive website experience for all 20 of their hub sites. We did a complete overhaul on content, design and layout. The new websites have plenty of updated features including a robust page/keyword search, dynamic schedule/results tab, SEO improvements, speed performance, smart sticky nav, and a more navigable mobile experience.
National Sports Center
The National Sports Center is the world’s largest amateur sports facility. NSC needed a theme for their main site and also for their other 4 facilities. This was my first custom website implementation at SportsEngine over 3 years ago. I've learned a ton since then but I still think it is a good example. Some features include custom call to action hover states, parallax hero images, mega dropdown navigation, accordion mobile menu and a global footer.
USHL
The United States Hockey League needed a new theme for their 17 team sites and main site. We provided an updated mobile presence with new functionality. A new network bar, scoreboard ribbon, sticky nav, splash page and integrated stat modules partnering with HockeyTech.
